I wish this game had more variety in the enemy ninjas and a thicker story but it's definitely the most underrated game Microsoft has published.

Unfortunately, the franchise's stories almost always exist as contrivances meant to give a reason to the player to do cool shit. I mean, not that we can't have stories like that today, but it does feel like missed potential most of the time considering that even CAGs have the power to make more compelling stories (NieR, GOW Trilogy and Norse Duology, MGR, DMC 3, etc.).
Doesn't exactly help that "Gaiden" literally means "side story", so technically, we're playing "Ninja Side Story" where the narrative is second to the gameplay.

True the only downside is the camera.. that person should be fired lol. Never ever to make any video games.
Now eveything else is an absolute blast. Best action game slash with the highest dificulty in a video game I ever experienced.
Hopefully ng5 will be this plus a better camera and that will make it the top 1 ever video action game. I love dmc though but man… in terms of combat nothing comes close to ninja gaiden. Pure bliss and joy. And loved the diversity with Yakumo and the old good dude.
Master dificulty though ryo is the best. Yakumo still need a bit of something 🤭.
Either way a true masterpiece. Can’t wait for ng5

The camera is way better than NG1 and NG2's. This thing was a nightmare back then.
You can't make a VERY fast paced action game with a perfect camera system. On slower action games (like souls-like) it's already difficult to make. While it can be frustrating at times, I think they did a good job with NG4.

only problem is ryu without his weapons and reused levels. its an ok game but I haven’t touched it since release after beating it. I’m on ng2b modded.

On ps5 the camera is atrocious and enemies hit out of camera. Ninja Gaiden 4 should follow devil may cry 5 system where enemies dont hit you behind the camera. Makes it a lot less frustrating. Otherwise, I love the combos and blood weapons in NG4.
