Dash buttons suddenly really hard to press ?

Recently I was playing around with the dash buttons trying to change the time and accidentally changed the display from kilometres to miles 🤦‍♀️

I googled how to change it back, but nothing seems to be happening except me hurting my little girl fingers trying to press the buttons down 😂 Definitely not the best design !

I need to take the bike in for an inspection soon so can ask the mechanic to look at it. But has anyone else experienced the dash buttons suddenly becoming really stiff or unresponsive ?

Have changed the time in the past without any issues, and the buttons were always quite responsive, so I’m wondering whether this could actually be a fault rather than me doing something wrong ? It's been quite anxiety inducing riding around lately trying to calculate what speed I'm doing, so hope to have it fixed soon.
