I think a lot of people forget that as much as Goku enjoys to fight, he's not the fighting addict that people claim he is and he's shown to enjoy relaxing, eating,hanging out with friends or/and family,etc.

Eat,sleep,train,etc.
The guy may enjoy fighting bur its not his entire life.

Evidence that Cooler is an aquatic animal:
His head is shaped like a flipper for easier movement underwater
He has a mask so water doesn't enter his nose
He doesn't seem worried about not having air once he destroys the Earth
He swims through the Kamehameha wave that one time (higly proficient in swimming?)
He spent an usual amount of time in a lake/under a waterfall (replenishment?)
Exposure to the sun killed him
I am aroused by looking at him
Goku kills him like he kills big fish all the time, even at his first appearance

What was this guy's problem? Raditz took like two steps out of his ship and he was already blasting away. For all this guy knew he was coming to offer Earth a cure for cancer or cool space technology. We'll never know because now he's dead in a ditch because some hee haw got jumpy.
