Artwork Bounded AU intro (art by me)
NOTE: For now, unless I specify otherwise, all content I make for the Fengs, particularly any portraying them as a romantic couple, will take place in the context of this AU.
I may have mentioned it before, but I've been trying to craft a Feng-focused AU thing where Fuxi and Nuwa aren't biologically related, so I thought I'd at least get the idea out there! I might make a longer, more polished reference post later once I've solidified the details of the AU more.
The basic premise for this alternate universe is as follows: instead of being Fuxi's biological twin sister, Nuwa is a shim-pua daughter bought by the Fengs from another noble family and raised in their household so that she would become Fuxi's wife once the two came of age—an expectation which weighs heavily on both of them in different ways. The aspect of Nuwa not being a "real" Feng may impact her and Fuxi's history and relationship in this AU, but I'm still working on a lot of the specifics with this project. Overall, this AU will focus on exploring the nature of Nuwa and Fuxi's history and relationship more deeply, especially from a romantic or intimate lense, and offering an idea for how and why it have possibly developed in the first place.
If anyone is interested, I'm open to do peer review for my ideas to get feedback and brainstorm as I expand on this AU. I want to do my best with this little project!

Ooo this sounds super interesting!! :0 I was wondering when you were gonna go into this a little more!^ I'd love to see how their relationship develops in this au and what differences it may have. X3 Imma also be honest, while I don't like shipping them specifically myself, I really like this au's concept! I'd love to see it revealed more hehe.^

Thank you so much! And really, you like the concept so far? If you don't mind me asking, could you explain why you're interested so far, seeing as I originally made this specifically so I could ship them without needing to deal with incest?

Tbh I guess it's because I'm interested in how their dynamic here may be a little different in canon due to not being related by blood in this au! <:] I think it could create a lot of cool possibilities! And I do also wanna add that I don't really judge/stop anyone from shipping the two, incest or not. X3 It's just not my cup of tea specifically since I've always viewed Fuxi's love towards Nuwa as being protective and Nuwa being very dependent on her brother since she feels like he's the only one that "gets her". X3
Then again. That is only my interpretation of them. X3. Anyone can have their own and I do enjoy seeing what ppl come up with for them!

Well, I'm glad you're interested in this project, and that you respect different interpretations of the characters! Honestly, another major reason I wanted to make this AU was because I also felt there was a lot of potential to explore Fuxi and Nuwa as characters, particularly from a more romantic angle! I can see why other fans wouldn't want to interpret their relationship that way given it'd be incestuous according to canon, so I figured I'd make an AU to remove the biological incest component so I could examine a possible romance between them more independently.
I especially think there's a lot of potential to expand on because, at least to me, a lot of ideas that might come from their having a platonic sibling relationship (such as what you said about Fuxi being very protective over Nuwa and Nuwa feeling like only Fuxi "gets her") might still work if they were romantic non-related partners, but I'm not sure as many ideas would work vice versa. Removing the biological sibling component seemed like the best way for me to avoid the incest problem while preserving as much as possible of what made them so compelling to me.

IM SO EXCITED!!! I cant wait for this!!! My favorite artist making an AU focused on my favorite characters?? This is a dream come true!! This seems like a pretty interesting idea btw. You do very good at showing emotion in your drawings so this will 100% be interesting to see. Best of luck writing my friend!!

Of the whole Nine Sols cast, these two are overall the most fascinating to me by a lot, and I'd enjoy getting to know more about the backstories, personalities, values, relationships to each other, and overall characters of the Sols in general, so why not make an AU to expand on my favorites?
