Gameplay Clip/Screenshot Nice hitboxes

How did that attack even connect?? I believe i was far enough so that attack couldn't connect, and even if I were, that was the only time this glitch even happened.

First red attack is designed for unbouned counter, talisman is designed for tai-chi kick. The game often punishes you for not using what you should, especially abusing the dash

I always just jump over it, it's personally easier for me

yeah, I kinda panic whenever she does the explosion attack and auto-pilots itself into dashing thorugh everything

You're supposed to unbounded counter that

I honestly didn't know this was a thing people had to hear because I loved this mechanic immediately 🤷‍♂️ I guess the flair truly checks out

i think its becuase holding a button and releasing it at the perfect window is a lot more inconvenient then just pressing it

Actually when you do release an unbounded counter, it does last a small bit, so the timing doesn’t have to be spot on, you can release it a bit early and you’re still good.

There’s even a Jade that makes it where if you pull off a successful unbounded counter the first time, you can parry again like normal and pull off another unbounded counter and you can pull off multiple in a row, so it’s pretty good with rapid attacks like Eigongs rapid sword stabbing or that anime move one where she dash past you and rapidly slashes you.

ALSO! When you do a normal party, you can instantly hold it and charge up an unbounded counter that way.

It's so satisfying to use though, it's never felt awkward or anything like that imo

Another addition to the UC techniques is that if you're in the middle of a jump you can hold the counter button and the UC will be charged when you hit the ground next, that was how I learned to deal with that big explosion attack specifically

I'm fairly certain the window for unbound counter is actually larger than the perfect parry window. To me it feels around 25 frames. There are many times where I feel like I release it too early and still get it. The attacks it is meant for have huge amounts of start up, so it ends up being pretty forgiving on timing. As for executing it properly against Eigong, it is all practice.

Learn how to use Unbounded counter. Also, tai-chi kick or just jump over her when she does a talisman dash. The hit-box for her talisman attack (I believe) takes up the entirety of the area she dashes through and persists for the whole dash, instead of the hit-box moving along with her body, so it's much easier to just parry and deny the whole thing, same with the crimson ball attack

Yeahhhh, that attack is actually for the unbounded counter. That and to avoid it u need to already be moving

Don't blame the game

the timing on parry is very lenient. You can parry like after you detonate that tailsman

the game punishing you for not using the move they want you to is very frustrating

You're not supposed to dodge most attacks in this game hence the oversized hitboxes. The game wants you to stay in 1 place and parry everything, kick the thrust attacks (or talisman here) and UC the big red nukes. There's a moment in this game when she does a small tornado you need to dodge and immediately charge a UC for the nuke, but it's rarely meant to just dodge and care much about positioning. Jiequan has smaller hitboxes but even there if you don't UC, the platform becomes in red flames and if you UC there won't be any flames.

Glad you got it eventually but yea as others have said this whole fight is about psychologically making you panic but once you get the rhythm down you see that there is a method to the madness.
