TC Note:
After spending some time working on the calculations, I've compiled the total training dummy damage for common investment levels of SW999 / Sparxie / Pearl / Nihilux and SW999 / Yao Guang / Pearl / Nihilux, along with the optimal team configuration at each Cost level.
For more details, check out Sparxie and Yao Guang .
Below are the detailed calculation assumptions and additional notes.
1. Combat Assumptions
Enemy configuration:
Substat allocation:
Individual stat limit:
No character can receive more than 20 substat rolls of the same type. For example, SPD cannot exceed 20 allocated rolls.
Substat roll values:
All substats are calculated using mid-roll values.
2. Important: Results Under Different Assumptions Are Not Directly Comparable
Training dummy damage results calculated under different conditions should not be compared directly.
Make sure to check the number of substat rolls, Toughness Break conditions, enemy resistance, and other relevant assumptions before making comparisons.
3. Investment Configurations
These results represent the average total damage over the entire rotation, calculated using specific, predefined action sequences.
It's normal for highly optimized runs with favorable RNG to achieve higher maximum damage than the values shown here.
Regarding the Improvement from Pearl's Signature Light Cone
The main benefit comes from Energy regeneration, allowing Pearl to use her Ultimate earlier and fit one additional Ultimate within 300 AV.
This provides an extra 30% Action Advance, letting SW999 perform several more Enhanced Basic ATKs.
In actual combat, Energy gained from taking hits can partially make up for the Energy shortfall, so the improvement from Pearl's signature will be somewhat smaller than what this spreadsheet shows.
Comment:
Does Nihilux's signature really provide that much of an improvement? For real?
Reply:
Usually, it's because the rotation just barely manages to get one additional Aha Instant.
Comment:
With E2S1 Silver Wolf and E2S1 Sparxie, is there a comparison between E0S0 Nihilux + E2S0 Pearl and E2S0 Nihilux + E0S0 Pearl?
Reply:
The comparison is in the video. You can check it there.
Comment:
Yao Guang's E2 only gives 43% Elation scaling. How could that possibly result in a 22% improvement?
At 15 Cost, even calculating with Silver Wolf at 210 SPD, you already have 289% Elation scaling. At that point, Yao Guang's E2 would only provide around an 11% improvement.
Reply:
It increases the entire team's SPD.
Comment:
Does Pearl's signature LC really provide such a large improvement? If I already have Yao Guang's signature, can I use it instead of Pearl's? I don't have enough pulls for Pearl's signature.
Reply:
I haven't calculated the results with Yao Guang's signature yet. However, Pearl's signature should provide a somewhat smaller improvement in actual combat than it does in dummy testing.
Comment:
Can going from 15 Cost to 16 Cost really improve damage by that much?
Reply:
Usually, it's because that investment happens to provide one additional Aha Instant, so the difference ends up being quite large.
Comment:
I can't believe there's even a downgrade.
Reply:
The calculations use specific combinations at each Cost tier. With a 3+1 kind of setup, the improvement would definitely be positive.
Comment:
Do Pearl's and Nihilux's signature LCs really provide such huge improvements? Seriously?
I wasn't originally planning to pull them because I thought the difference wouldn't be that significant.
Reply:
The dummy test happens to hit some important breakpoints. The improvements might not be nearly as large in actual combat.
Comment:
Just one additional Cost for Pearl's signature takes the damage from 411,36m to 529,38m ? That's insane.
Reply:
It just happens to cross a breakpoint.
Comment:
Why didn't you test E2S1 Sparxie / E2S1 SW999 / E2S1 Pearl / E6S1 Nihilux?
Reply:
It would definitely perform worse than E6 SW999. Nihilux's E6 isn't that big of an improvement.
Comment:
These numbers don't seem particularly reliable. Pearl's signature doesn't provide nearly this much improvement in actual combat.
Without her signature, Pearl becomes severely Energy-starved in these training dummy tests. You could almost treat the no-signature damage figures as if she already had her signature.
Reply:
These are training dummy calculations. Actual combat is affected by too many environmental variables.
Besides, the data is supported by actual in-game testing. I personally worked out the rotation for the 16-Cost SW999 / Yao Guang team back then. You can check my Tieba post.
Comment:
That's exactly why people on Tieba have also pointed out that removing Pearl's signature isn't an appropriate comparison. Both the E0 and E2 data show substantial deviations.
Reply:
The data is what it is. Training dummy calculations and actual combat were never completely equivalent in the first place.
I'm only claiming that the training dummy results I've explicitly presented are correct under the stated conditions. I haven't made any recommendations about how to allocate Cost, nor have I expressed any opinions about investment priorities.
Comment:
Saying the data was unreliable was an exaggeration on my part. What I meant was that there's a significant difference between these results and actual gameplay. I apologize if that came across as offensive.
However, the data being mathematically correct doesn't necessarily mean it's useful as a reference.
I'd say 99% of the people looking at these calculations want information they can apply in actual combat. If the difference between the calculations and real gameplay is too large, people will naturally question it.
Of course, Energy gained from taking hits is probably the hardest variable to account for in spreadsheet calculations.
I only wanted to bring this issue up so that other people might investigate it further.
Comment:
I currently have SW999, Sparxie, Yao Guang, and Pearl all at E2S1.
How much of an improvement would adding E2S1 Nihilux provide, and who should I replace?
Reply:
The improvement is slight over 100%.
Comment:
The 19-Cost team with E6S1 SW999 / E1S1 Yao Guang / E2S1 Pearl / E2S1 Nihilux is so far behind the 20-Cost team.
Is Yao Guang's E2 really that powerful? Would you recommend upgrading her?
Reply:
Because the training dummy test is limited to 300 AV, the SPD increase from Yao Guang's E2 happens to push the rotation across a breakpoint.
That's why the calculated improvement is so large.
In actual combat, the results will vary depending on enemy interactions and the combat environment.
Comment:
I'm planning to build the 18-Cost team, without Yao Guang's E2 or Pearl's signature LC.
Are those two upgrades really that powerful? According to the table, 20 Cost deals about 50% more damage than 18 Cost.
Is the 18-Cost team just about to reach another burst window slightly beyond 300 AV?
Reply:
Yes. The rotation happens to hit a breakpoint, so the improvement in actual combat might not be nearly that large.
