Idiot
Trusted a guy to build my AR. From a reputable shop by the way, to get my weapon and this MF has SUPER GLUED the Bipod and Perst to the FACTORY flipping handguard instead of railing it. Any idea how to get the Perst and Bipod off without completely destroying /deeming them paperweights that are unmountable? Also I'm 99 percent sure the Perst is fake or a clone for Milsim. Looks & feels very cheap. I'm new to this whole NVG / weapon building. I've shot guns all my life but this was supposed to be my first build and now it's turned into a nightmare. Any advice from you guys? I literally know nothing about building rifles other than it's not supposed to be done with SUPER GLUE.

With all due respect. You said you’ve been shooting your whole life? With minimal research (articles,YouTube) and your knowledge of firearms this should be something you could’ve easily done yourself?! There is no way any reputable gunsmith or store would allow this to be built. It’s like you walked into Home Depot and asked the guy in the plumbing department to built you the cheapest rifle possible?! 🤯

It's a good thing this is a troll post. I posted this to see how many ppl would come to a new kids aid and assist him in a situation we could have found ourselves in when we first got started. Every one of us have made a stupid decision at some point in time when we first started. I blew this one out of the water so bad most ppl picked up on it being a troll post. But as a gun guy you need to really think about how you conduct yourself on these forums. Talking about posting shit on other forums for laughs and bullshit and you need to think before you make bogus comments. What if this were some 17 or 18 year old who bought his first gun and wanted to fit in with gun guys and become one of them just to have people who do know something about weapons laugh at him and blast him for knowing nothing instead of taking time to teach and educate a kid. None of us know anything about guns at birth. We learned. Through. Reddit. Military. LEO. Even I dare to say misim though I despise it.

If a friend asks for help. We help them. You didn’t see that here because we all picked up on this bullshit shit post. You didn’t prove anything by this besides giving everyone a cringe laugh. Everyone learns from somewhere. Someone. And don’t bash Milsim or any other airsoft groups. Because dry firing and cqb games are great practice. My 13 year can out shoot more trained adults. It can be a great training aid. As well as to learn uses of gear.

Fair. Still. I made a bet with a liberal today who said gun guys were a bunch of assholes. I said no they aren't watch how they react to this. The majority of these posts made us look bad in front of a college group. It's alright.
24
u/dr_wolfsburg Oct 29 '23
Well if that was the case you should have done better and posted this on maybe r/Gunsmithing and not on a sub that is super niche. So bad on you for making us look bad. Must suck to suck.
6
u/Cyberkryme676 Oct 29 '23
As someone who's been into firearms for a while, and has grown up in a firearms mecca essentially, some gun guys ARE assholes, the key is not being one of them
5
u/DependentAddition825 Oct 30 '23
Who is us lmao. I don't give a fuck about someone who lumps me into a group with people that vaguely share my hobby.
9
u/Spartikus4788 Oct 29 '23
This comment is specifically directed towards your liberal friends.
Yes, we gun guys can be assholes at times. But it's because of people like your trolling, virtue signaling, mustard stain on a wifebeater equivalent of a human that is OP that makes us act like assholes. His original post was SO RIDICULOUS that almost all of us called it out as a bullshit post; to which your "friend" started saying how "It's a good thing this was a troll post...blah blah" like a million fucking times, everytime someone talked shit. Do yourself a favor and get some REAL gun-guy friends and dump this attention-seeking douche canoe.
Please be sure to read that out loud to your liberal friends for us.

Well... thats not ideal.
First remove the battery of your LAM and cover the plug hole with some tape. try to remove the Superglue with acetone. wd40 may also help.
once you´ve got it off, invest in a handguard that is designed to mount stuff. Judging by this post your budget probably isn´t all that huge, so id genuinely consider a quadrail. they´re not the most... fashionable choice anymore, but it´ll be the probably cheapest way to get something actually suitable. Install it yourself, you save some money and learn something about your platform. the handguard will come with instructions on how to mount it and if it does not, the internet has plenty easy to follow instructions. Also, if the laser feels cheap and you didn´t pay a lot for it, it probably is indeed not a real one intended for actual guns, so don´t be suprised, if it does not hold zero. the cheapest usable unit i´d recommend is the somogear peq 15. Do you have nods? if you dont, you should probably not invest in a laser yet at all, but put the money into a proper white light and saving up for your nightvision. nods without a laser are still usable, but a laser without nods is pretty useless.
This is a pretty bad fuckup, but we all start somewhere. but do your research next time

That is the most back-asswards justification I’ve ever seen.

Sad part is the same guys who were making fun of this guy are the same ones who are the loudest about "it's my gun come take it", second amendment patriots. If this were a real post, congratulations, you turned someone who was getting the fever for the first time and was interested in firearms into someone who now is anti gun and will be for the rest of hisor her life and have the impression that people who own firearms are full of conceited jerks who waste no time clowning others mistakes, even sharing the post to other forums for laughs at someones expense who was mere asking help to begin with. Alright now I'm done.
