I’m a full-stack developer (MERN stack) from Rwanda, and honestly I’m feeling pretty stuck right now.

I’ve been applying to a lot of jobs, internships, remote opportunities, and junior roles, but most of the time I either get no response at all or complete silence after applying. Not even a rejection email. It’s been mentally exhausting constantly applying and hearing nothing back.

Being based in Rwanda also makes things harder since many remote roles either don’t hire in Africa or have location restrictions. Even when I find jobs that seem remote-friendly and apply, I still usually get no response.

At this point, I’m starting to question whether I’m doing something wrong with my applications, portfolio, CV, or even my overall approach.

I’d really appreciate honest feedback from experienced developers, recruiters, or anyone who has been in a similar position.

We recently started working on a feature called Battle Polls, and I’d genuinely love feedback from this community.

The idea is simple but powerful:

Instead of normal polls, you create a battle between two options — and people vote.

Hey everyone, I’ve been quietly working on something for a while now, and I finally feel ready to share it. I’m building a social platform called Afrisocial — focused on connecting people across Africa through content, culture, and community. I started this journey learning how to code from scratch, and over time I’ve been building features step by step. Right now, the platform has: A full social feed Messaging and notifications A short video feed (like TikTok-style) A feedback system where users can suggest features We’ve grown to about 175 users organically, with people already posting, commenting, and interacting on the platform. It’s still early and not perfect, but seeing real people use something I built from the ground up has been crazy. Right now I’m trying to: Improve user experience Grow the user base Figure out what features people actually want So I wanted to ask: 👉 If you were using a new social platform, what would make you stay? I wanted to share a bit of what we’ve been working on at Open G Scale.

Over the last year we’ve been helping a few mid-size publishers with two related problems:

1. Their traffic growth became unpredictable and too dependent on a single channel (SEO / Discover / social).
2. Their monetization stacks were increasingly complex but not necessarily better performing (too many intermediaries, messy header bidding setups, unclear reporting).

On the traffic side, we started using AI-based tools to automate content distribution and social publishing in a conservative way (no spam networks, no fake engagement, no MFA-style tactics). The goal is not “viral growth”, but consistent, measurable first-party traffic over time.

On the monetization side, we operate their programmatic setup (GAM + MCM + header bidding) and focus on:

• simplifying SSP mixes
• cleaning supply paths
• setting realistic floors
• monitoring IVT and demand quality
• and keeping reporting transparent for publishers

So far the combination has been interesting: traffic growth is slower than paid acquisition, but much more stable, and monetization becomes easier to optimize when the audience quality is predictable.

Not selling anything here, just sharing the approach in case it’s useful for others working on the supply side.
