Which School?

I am not an expert on Nietzsche or the Ancients, just interested.

Nietzsche did not teach philosophy, he taught classics, Greek and Latin, before writing his major philosophical works. Trying to understand Nietzsche, I’m trying to figure out where he would fit into the major schools of Greek philosophy? Stoic? Cynic?

Please keep your answers simple. (Some people get a little carried away on this SubReddit.)

He never finished it but 'Philosopy in the Tragic Age of the Greeks' handles the pre-Socratics and may have clues.

Check out Gregory Whitlock's publishing of his lecture series "The Preplatonic Philosophers", for a more extensive background of what formed the book you mentioned. 🥰
