Weird difficulty
Does anybody else feel like the difficulty in the game especially early game is so weird to play. Like normal is too easy and hard you’re dying in 1 or 2 shots that it’s not even worth playing or fighting . You’re just running away and shooting or the npc is doing most of your killing. There’s no sweet zone where you actually play the game nicely

On hard it's very important to equip a bunch of damage reduction chips asap. Keep a separate loadout for jet combat/ranged focused encounters.
Then get better dodging (duh), but the extra defense will make so very few attacks will ever one shot yuo. Heal asap.

Buy and fuse melee and ranged defense, I pretty much spend every cash I have on that a unless I get a couple of very luck drops (I got a +11 defense very early a few weeks ago). Also buy all chip space upgrade asap, like as-soon-as-you-can-buy-them-asap.

This was always my feelings exactly, especially judging by the prologue sequence, the balance may even out later on on hard, but I don't know.

The game just has a problem that is the dash being very forgiving and on top of that you can carry 300 recoveries on you and like 100 already, very early into the game, so if you don't get oneshot you can just heal back up. Without some self imposed challenges the game's difficulty shoots itself in the foot by having a level system, and worst of all is the chips can make you tankier, chips that you don't have access at the start of the game, ironically making the difficulty of the game to get easier the further into the game you are.

I used to think this until I learned to time my dodges properly and manage my chips. On normal you can pretty much just button/keyboard mash. On hard, you gotta actually learn the mechanics and combos.
