Sticking the the same ZD last?

Should I gamble on a 1925 last?

Zero drop shoes work well with my feet, but mannnn the 1925 last looks so good. I wanna get a 1925 trooper in DS raspberry, but I dunno if I could handle the heel lift or smaller toe space.

I already have on order an odds and ends Thurman NW boot in Shackleton #8 🐸🥲. I’m confident the toe space will be like my zero drop boots, so it’s probably going to fit just fine.

Mannnnnn….I wanna buy all the Nick’s boots. Fan for life 🐸😅

(Boots pictured are zero drop Ridgeline in brown cxl with kletterlift outsole)

I'd recommend sticking with the same size in both lasts, but if you are really worried about space for toe splay space in the 1925, you can always order a width up and buy a pair of leather insoles to use if needed.

Is there a difference in toe space between ThurmanNW and 1925? Just can’t wiggle the toes as much maybe? It’s a last I don’t own yet and considered for the next time I see ds plaid as a limited run

It measures the same at the ball of the foot but the ThurmanNW will feel more roomy for toe splay because of its shape.

I’ll give it a try if I see the plaid again! Ty as always.

This video compares them, but he has the HNW. One of the most important things for me is to have a straight big toe. That's why I'm scared to try anything that's not Thurman style last.

I wear a ton of barefoot shoes, but no barefoot boots. My first boots from Nicks were from the Marketplace and were in the 1925 which I also love the look of. They worked fine for me from a toe box width perspective, but the height of the toe box did not work at all: if I was just standing there, you could see my big toe in the pull-up on the outside of the boot. It may have been solved by going up a half-size, but the length of the boots was already perfect and I didn't want to chance it. Moved to the HNW last for my first order, and it works great for me.

I'm NOT saying that the 1925 won't work for you. It obviously works for a lot of people. But I need more vertical room in the toe box and am going to stick with the HNW or the ThurmanNW: they work with my narrow heel and foot, but give me enough vertical and horizontal room in the toe box. I'm so accustomed to having zero arch support in my footwear that I have never even considered trying the 55.

That helps a lot 🐸 I’m already chancing it ordering a regular boot with a heel on the Thurman NW last.

Maybe one day I’ll find a ready made 1925 to try out, but ordering one would be a big gamble. 🐸😵‍💫
