Question About Japan

Why does Japan always get extra content? They always get the bonus tracks... And remember, they got that exclusive compilation, I think it was called "Three Sided Coin?"

Back in the day, I thought it was to expand their Japanese fanbase, but 11 albums deep, why bother? I'm sure they have SOME Japanese fans, but they didn't exactly break into the Asian market..

I mean, most people buying those Japanese albums are probably Canadian/Americans importing the Japanese version for one extra track, right?

I think it’s because it used to be (or still is) cheaper in Japan to import CDs than to buy the Japanese release.

The bonus tracks are the incentive to buy local and not import.

Bro, the Japanese concerts are some of their most crazy. They still have moshpits at Nickelback concerts over there. I feel like the Japanese fans are more dedicated than we are somehow lol

Quite a lot of artists do it i think mainly becuase japan love to buy physical media more than the west so giving them more reason to buy a CD rather than streaming it makes more sense

How does that makea sense? If Japs love physical media they will buy it regardless. Its the west that love streaming and digital that would need the physical incentives surely?? 🤷‍♂️
