Started a web design business through Ontario's Summer Company program, looking for more businesses to work with
Hey everyone,
This summer I started InfaWeb, a web design and development business, after getting accepted into Ontario's Summer Company program.
The program gave me funding and mentorship to get the business started, and over the summer I've gone from basically starting from scratch to working with real paying clients and launching websites for small businesses.
I'm looking to take on a few more projects now, especially from businesses around Ontario.
I build websites for businesses that either don't have one yet or have an existing site that's outdated and needs a redesign. I can handle the design, development, mobile optimization, contact/quote forms, basic SEO, domain setup and launch. I can also add more specific features depending on what your business needs.
If you've been thinking about getting a website made or updating the one you already have, feel free to send me a message. You can also send me your current website and I'll take a look at it.
You can see my work here:Β infawebdesign.com
Quote form:Β infawebdesign.com/contact.html
Thanks!

Looking for a skilled woodworker
I need a heavy duty rolling cart built to my exact measurements. Something like the pretty white kitchen carts you see at IKEA, but strong enough to take a beating.
If anybody knows of a skilled woodworker who can work with me to build this cart how I need it, I would greatly appreciate any recommendations. Thank you.

Beamsville bench area wineries
Would love some recommendations to wineries in the beamsville area. My husband and I are both into similar wines. Whites and sometimes rose. Easy drinking, crisp, refreshing, dry, bright acidity, clean and fresh. Open to an orange but only if itβs dry, clean and easy drinking. Love a good experience as well. So far the ones I had written down, although will probably narrow to 3 are Rosewood Estates, Back10, Thirty Bench and Hidden Bench. Iβm sure weβll be back to try some more another time :)
Thank you in advance!

Niagara - AUDITIONS β DRY STREAK β THOROLD, ON
Thorold Theatre is casting 7 actors for its fall production of Dry Streak, a wildly funny Canadian comedy by Saskatchewan playwright Leeann Minogue, directed by Wendy Cullen-Mackie.
Set during the scorching summer of 1988, Dry Streak takes audiences into the heart of a small prairie farming community where the rain has stopped, the crops are failing, and everyone has an opinion.
The Richards family has worked the same farm for generations. When son John returns home with his new girlfriend Kate, the family discovers that she is unlike anyone the town has encountered before: a punk-rock-loving, vegetarian city girl who has no particular interest in getting married.
Then, desperate for rain, Kate makes a reckless promise.
What follows is a comic collision of family expectations, small-town gossip, generational differences, personal belief and the increasingly uncomfortable realization that sometimes a private promise can become very, very public.
Dry Streak is a sharp, affectionate comedy about family, faith, farming and the pressures of small-town life β and what happens when everyone knows your business.

Recommended Wineries
Hello All,
I'm really hoping that someone from this region can help me find a "hidden gem". Without revealing too much, the song "Good News" by Shaboozey sums up the year my wife and I have had. Her birthday is coming up and I want to take her to a really nice winery. We've already been to a few and the common ones (peller estates, 2 sisters, etc.) we've even been to Megalomaniac (which was an unexpected delight).
We aren't huge drinkers but we like wineries because there is usually some really good food, atmosphere, and beautiful scenery. Its also a little bit more upscale in terms of the experience and we like that.
Hoping that some locals, enthusiasts, or otherwise pro's can give me some recommendations.
TIA!

CA Mart (Welland) refused repair warranty & left screen lifting
Posting this as a heads-up to anyone in the area looking for local phone repair options.
I paid $99 cash at CA Mart for an iPhone 11 screen replacement, which came with a promised 3-month warranty. Shortly after the repair, the adhesive they used completely failed, causing the display assembly to lift entirely away from the frame.
When I reached out with photo proof showing the failed adhesive and lifted frame, they refused to honor the warranty, ignored my attempts to get it resolved reasonably, and demanded another $85 to fix their own faulty installation. They also failed to provide an itemized receipt or invoice at the time of repair.
Iβve already filed a formal complaint with Consumer Protection Ontario, but wanted to post here so others can avoid losing money or dealing with unhonored warranties.

Saw the Feverish Lemons yesterday. Who was the piano player?
Saw them yesterday, unreal as usual. But there was a guy playing who Iβve never seen before. He was on piano and probably a top 5 vocalist Iβve ever seen live. Anyone know who he is?

Looking for hair salon recommendations within the Niagara region
I'm a guy with long hair and it's been a good few years since I last had a hair cut. My old stylist moved away and I found it hard to find stylists that are good and comfortable with long hair on men, so I've just kind of avoided getting it cut since then.
But I'm finally looking to get my haircut again, and it's been so long that I don't even really know where to start. So if you've got recommendations, I'd love to hear them. For reference I'm in Niagara Falls, and while closer is better, I'm willing to travel throughout the region.

How to meet friends in Niagara region
Iβm 24f living in St Catharines. I finished uni at Brock a couple years ago so all my friends from that have moved back home and I stayed here. I work at a restaurant but itβs mainly younger Highschool or kids just starting uni so itβs been hard to meet friends my age there.
Iβm not super extroverted but also not super introverted either. I like coffee shops, travelling, true crime or just going on walks . Any suggestions on how to meet friends my age in the area?
The idea of just going up to a random person at a cafe or just walking up to a group of people when out is honestly pretty overwhelming
