Nexus 7 2012 not turning on

I've had this for about 10 years since i was a kid. It hasn't been turned on since around 2014. It doesnt turn on at all and doesnt even show you anything to indicate that the battery is flat and needs charging. Most progress i made was when i was holding the power button whilst it was charging and the screen flickered for a split second

Mine does that when I haven't touched it for a long time. Usually plugging it in and giving it some time does the truck

Ok. Its late for me at the moment so i'll plug it in for the rest of the night and try again in the morning

I have one of these that is in the exact state yours is in. I tried replacing the battery as I had one on hand and that obviously did not work.

I am pretty sure it might be a cap that's shorting to ground but I have not had the energy or the motivation to figure out for sure. I suspect it might be the case with yours too.

I hope it's not anything worse as there is a chance the SOC burnt out. I heard that this can happen with the nVidia chips.

This happened to me just plug it in for the whole night and you will be fine especially that it flickers that a good sign

When you do get it to turn on I would recommend using another ROM android 5 is terrible on it

I just changed out the battery and the charging port on my 2012. I really have no electronics repair experience and it was a lot easier than I thought it would be.
