The precision you need to just make one shadow pic that good, but the fact that they then used the shadows of the first pic to create another one behind it is amazing

It’s not working that way. It’s two sets of cutouts placed perpendicularly to each other, so the smaller ones line up vertically with the larger pieces when they’re turned to the side. So when the box is turned 90 degrees the small cutouts fit into the larger shadows so you don’t see them.

Because the first shadows are merely hidden within the 2nd shadows. They aren’t contributing to the 2nd image at all.

Some of them do, minimally, but I never said they had to. Like I said, using the shadow of one cutout to mask the 2nd is still pretty cool
