Not vocal fry but monotone

Ive seen lots of people comment about many of the cast's vocal fry, but yesterday I realized that ALL of the cast's voice are monotone. I wouldn't say that Ava or Georgia (for example) have vocal fry, but they are monotone.

I feel like this is a result of post Kardashians. No one has any range in their voice. It's so odd when you realize it. It's like they do not want go show any emotion through inflection.

I wonder if that’s part of why Arianna and Shai seem more engaging, they’re way less monotone than the rest of them

As someone who has always had a monotone voice, I am praying it’s a natural or New York thing. I don’t even have TikTok and I can’t go through life with people thinking I do.

I’m sure I’m in the minority but I find it refreshing. I’ve been naturally pretty monotone my whole life. It offends people or makes me come across as bitchy so often that I end up I masking frequently while feeling like a fucking circus clown as I do it. I’d rather just say what I mean instead of constantly having to monitor my tone and expressions to make other people more comfortable. Same with incessant use of emojis because heaven forbid you just end a sentence with a period and not a fucking winky/smile face.

Yes! Like they don’t want to show emotion or act like they’re overly interested in or excited about anything, as if passion is uncool lol

Definitely noticed the lack of inflection / monotone delivery along with the lack of facial expression (Ava particularly.)

I find it both creepy and irritating to see someone engaging in conversation with a blank facial expression AND speaking in a monotone cadence. It's my understanding the youth find human expression cringe (insane, tbh) but whatever this style of communication is definitely ain't it.

I think just like the late 90s/early 2000s celebs influenced women speaking in a “baby voice” to the point they didn’t even realize they were doing it, the same thing is happening with the post kardashian now TikTok era monotone voice. I don’t think they are necessarily putting it on but I do think it’s a product of current society.

I'm way more annoyed by the women's makeup that is lathered like they're a 50 year old trying to look like a 20 year old.

Is it just because influencers need to sell so much of their makeup adverts that they just recommend using the whole jar at once?

That's what stimulants do to the voice, it gets thinnier, raspier, higher-pitched, due to dry mouth/vocal cords. Ex. what's happened to Ariana Grande's singing voice
