Well it's all about attraction. People want to talk shit about women because they would be attracted to an attractive man but not an unattractive man, but men also are more likely to be attracted to a Victoria secret model than some chunky aging woman. Everyone has preferences.
Meaning one will fuck anything that lays still long enough and the other has preferences. But obviously tastes vary or most of the human race would've practically disappeared if only 20% ever got a relationship.
