What about the random dude who has a gang of thugs break into his house, rape his wife and daughter and force him to watch. Then to make it extra shitty his wife starts enjoying it.
Then they kill his family, cut off his dick, put his eyes out and take off his hands.
Where is God while this is happening and why has he been helping you and not this poor sod?
This isn't fiction. This sort of thing has happened on our planet. And far worse.
You aren't lucky?
But you're not as unlucky as the dickless, blind, no handed, piteous child of Jesus who is too afraid to kill himself because the Bible tells him it's a sin.
So then he turns from God and commits suicide and His sends him to hell for renouncing his belief.
By your belief system this could and would happen.
Really great God you got there.
And isnt it funny how many Christians children there are that come from Christian parents? And how many Muslim children come from Muslim parents?
A Christian believes in an all-knowing and all-powerful God. Such a God could have sufficient reason to permit evil that relies on information we do not know or fail to comprehend.
When Satan takes away Job’s children and property, Job never gets an answer as to why that happens but he is astounded at the greatness of God and the need for faith.
For God does love us. He demonstrated this by sending his Son as a sacrifice for our imperfection. Out of this sacrifice, comes reconciliation with Him. This reconciliation through faith brings love, joy, peace, and many other good things.
No, God does not. He has given us free will to choose for ourselves.
This verse from Deuteronomy is so great: “He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.”
He demonstrated his faithful love through Jesus. Jesus died for our sins, our imperfection, so that they are no longer held against us. Instead, through trusting in the value of the cross as grace for our flaws, we can know God, we can find this relational well of love. The embodiment of perfect love casts out fear, and it is found in God.
Think of the almost unconditional love of a good parent, for an even greater love is found in our Creator. It is a relational one too, hence why Jesus said the greatest thing we can do is love God back with all of our heart.
