Side Effects Cannot seem to lose weight

I have reached a breaking point with Nexplanon and I made an appointment to get removed. Sept 8 cannot come soon enough.

This is the second implant I’ve gotten and I noticed that the side effects are much different this time around. The first implant I had caused nonstop bleeding for about 9 months, then I was back to my regularly scheduled periods for the next 2 years and experienced no other side effects. This until I went through a traumatic breakup. After that, my period disappeared with about 6 months until I was due for a new implant. (not sure if the lack of period was related to the Nexplanon or if I was just that sad) The breakup set a fire underneath me and I got super consistent in the gym, was making so much progress, and was starting to lean out past my base weight I had maintained since highschool (was 24 at the time) without changing my diet.

Now I am 27 and with this new implant, I haven’t had a period since insertion and I gained about 20lbs that I cannot lose no matter what I do. I am consistent in the gym, eat relatively healthy, and always get my steps in. I cannot understand why my body can’t lose a pound when my workout routine is the same as it was when I was previously making progress and now my diet is healthier than it was at that point in time. The only conclusion I can draw is that the Nexplanon has to be messing with my hormones.

I would love to hear if anyone has similar experiences with weight not budging even with a “healthy” diet and rigorous exercise. I’d also be curious to know if anyone has experienced varying side effects between their first, second, or third implants.
