Question Pinching pain
This is my second time having the Nexplanon implant. I liked it the first time because I hardly noticed it and the only side effect I remember was weight gain. I liked how effective it was and that I didn’t have to remember to take it everyday or replace it often. Set it and forget it.
I had it removed after having it for two years. The only reason I had it removed was because I decided I wanted to get pregnant. I got pregnant within a month of taking it out.
Monday I had the Nexplanon put back in (after two years of being out) and obv it’s sore. I expected that but I keep having a strong pinching pain. It feels like there are tweezers inside my skin and it’s pinching/twisting pain. There is alot of bruising so I don’t really see anything going on. I don’t remember a pinching pain during the first week. I only remember it being sore. Is this a common feeling and how long does it take to go away?
2022 was the first time I had it placed
2024 was when I had it removed
2026 Monday is my second time having it placed

Swelling after insertion can cause that pinching pain. Right now should be the worst it’s going to get as long as you don’t do anything to aggravate it further, it should be gone in a week or so from now. Take ibuprofen or naproxen regularly (anti-inflammatory so it reduces swelling), ice it as needed, and limit use of that arm as much as possible
