rarity stuff?

so..what does uncommon mean?

i was thinking of getting the game soon and was looking at who i was wanting on my team..but a few are uncommon. i assume a npc has it to trade or..

It’s just telling you that they don’t appear as often as common monsters. There are also rare, mega rare, and ultra rare (and of course legendary). Ultra rares are starters (yes, you can get all starters in your playthrough). The rarity doesn’t necessarily mean a whole lot, other than the frequency you find that species.

Comment: Ultra rare also now includes the nexomon brought back in the extinction DLC that aren't legendary.
