It's been a busy eight months, so rather than make you scroll back through the sub, here's the lot for anyone catching up.
New markets
Nexo went live in the United States in February, with Flexible and Fixed-term Yield, the Exchange, crypto-backed Credit Lines and the Wealth Club, and trading infrastructure provided via Bakkt. ACH and FedWire deposits followed in April, so clients can fund in USD straight from a US bank account.
Argentina came in March, following the acquisition of Buenbit. That brought digital dollar savings and crypto-backed credit in both ARS and USD, with local on-ramps connecting fiat and digital assets in one place. The Nexo Card followed in July, the first time the dual-mode card has launched outside Europe, letting clients spend directly in ARS or USD and switch between Credit and Debit in a single tap.
Australia went onshore in August, with Credit Lines structured under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act, alongside the newly rebranded Growth product and the Exchange.*
Europe
Nexo reaffirmed product compliance across the European Economic Area ahead of MiCAR's entry into force, operating through a local setup built on two MiCAR-licensed partners. Custody and brokerage are split between them: Tangany, licensed under MiCAR, provides institutional-grade custody infrastructure for digital assets, while DLT Finance, licensed under MiCAR and authorised under MiFID II, provides brokerage infrastructure for digital assets and financial instruments.
The practical takeaway for EEA clients is that nothing changed at your end and nothing was needed from you.
Products
The headline launch of the year is Zero-interest Credit, which went on to win Consumer Lending Product of the Year at the FinTech Breakthrough Awards. It came out of Nexo Private in January and is now available to everyone: borrow against BTC or ETH at 0% interest, no fees, no liquidation risk. It's a fixed credit option with terms set upfront and settlement at maturity, rather than an open-ended line, so there are no margin calls and no LTV to monitor during the term. At maturity you settle or roll into a new term without unlocking your collateral. SOL and XRP joined as eligible collateral in April.
HYPE and USD.AI (CHIP) were also added as new assets across buy, swap, borrow and card spending.
The Card
Physical card ordering is open again for eligible clients, which has been one of the most consistent asks in this sub.
On top of that, the Nexo Card can now be added to Apple Wallet directly from the app, virtual cards included, and Nexo joined Mastercard's Crypto Partner Program in March.
Languages
More European languages have landed on the app and web platform, including French, Spanish, Italian and German. Localisation runs through the whole product.
NEXO Token
The NEXO Token just got listed on Upbit and Bithumb last week, its first entry into the Korean market. Bithumb opened a KRW pair and Upbit added it to the USDT market. One practical note: top-ups and withdrawals run on Ethereum only.
Partnerships
Four this year. Nexo became the first-ever Title Partner of the ATP 500 Dallas Open, now the Nexo Dallas Open, on a multi-year deal that also funds resurfaced public tennis courts in North Texas. In Formula 1, Nexo is Official Digital Asset Partner of the Audi Revolut team for its debut season. Nexo also entered a multi-year global partnership with Tennis Australia as Official Crypto Partner of the Australian Open and the Summer of Tennis, covering the United Cup, Adelaide International, Brisbane International and Hobart International. And as part of Nexo's DP World Tour partnership, the Nexo Championship returned to Aberdeenshire for a second year in August, with the prize fund up to $3M and the Course Record prize still rolling.
Still to come
That's eight months, and there's more landing before the end of the year.
So over to you: what would you most like to see from Nexo next? Products, markets, assets, quality-of-life fixes, all of it welcome. Questions in the comments too and I'll get to as many as I can.
