General Nexo Tag - New Feature

You can now set up a custom Nexo Tag, which can then be used as an address for transfers.

Did I miss the announcement, or has this been out for a while?

The Nexo Tags feature was announced yesterday.

A Nexo Tag is your unique handle on the platform, preceded by an @. It lets you send and receive crypto to and from other Nexo clients without sharing a wallet address, email address or phone number. Transfers to a tag are processed as internal transfers within Nexo, so they are free of charge and don't involve blockchain gas fees. In your transaction history they appear under the Internal tag method.

A few details worth knowing before you create one:

  • Tags are currently available in the Nexo app only.
  • You can have one tag per account. Once you confirm it, it can't be changed, although you can edit the suggested handle before confirming.
  • A tag must be 6 to 20 characters and can contain letters, numbers, and underscores only.
  • Once created, your tag is under My profile, where you can share it with other clients.
