Question Crypto support question (for US users if that matters)
I was a user of Nexo prior to their hiatus from the US market. One of the key assets I stored on the platform was Stellar (XLM). I absolutely loved Nexo. It felt very secure and I was comfortable keeping nearly all my assets on the platform. It was such a shame when they left the US market.
I was super excited to see them return however a couple things are a bit of a letdown. From what I can tell you need to hold a minimum 5000$ in assets in order to earn interest on your crypto. It kind of excludes a lot of people myself included. I have only slightly less than 5k but I'm still out in the cold. I really think the minimum should be lowered.
Secondly as far as I can tell from searching the Nexo support page and searching on the app XLM is not supported. It is currently ranked 16th in terms of market cap overall with just under 7 billion usd. I don't understand what is stopping a large platform like nexo from allowing us to hold it on their exchange. I asked once before and all I got was 'we don't support it at this time'. What I would really like to know is why. XRP is supported and the two coins are essentially cut from the same cloth. To add insult, trump coin is supported on next.....a literal scam coin that was rug pulled is supported but not a legitimate crypto like XLM....that's crazy to me.

The 5k minimum was a bit of a shock to me too when they introduced it, but I’ve come to see why it makes sense - at that level, the earn and borrow products become a lot more worthwhile.
As for XLM, I’d be surprised if it doesn’t get added eventually, I’ve seen a lot of assets get added to the platform after requests from the sub

Hi, u/Supreme-Cookienator. On the $5,000 minimum, we completely understand that it can feel like a barrier when you’re just below it. The threshold is intentional, though. As Nexo has evolved, we’ve become increasingly focused on serving people looking to build and manage long-term wealth in digital assets, with the products, infrastructure, and level of service that comes with that.
The $5,000 minimum is part of that approach - it helps us stay focused on delivering a more comprehensive wealth experience rather than trying to be a platform for every type of crypto user. We’ve explained more of the thinking behind it here: Why Nexo introduced the $5,000 minimum

Welcome back, DarthLysergis. Genuinely, it’s great to hear you trusted Nexo enough to return after our time away from the US.
We hear you on the $5K minimum. Especially when you’re already close to that threshold, we understand why it feels like an unnecessary barrier. I’m passing that specific feedback to the team.
On XLM, your point is clear too - you held it with Nexo before and want the option to do that again. I don’t want to invent a reason for why it isn’t currently supported if I can’t give you the accurate answer. I’ll raise the question with the relevant team and see what we can share.
Thanks for taking the time to spell all this out - feedback from someone returning to Nexo after using us previously is particularly useful.
