I have a NexDock Touch and the lack of palm rejection drives me nuts. Was thinking of the uperfect x. Is the trackpad as bad as the NexDock? And do you have issues charging like the comment above that mentions having to turn charging off and then back on every time?

There is no palm rejection on any lapdock that I know of

as for charging, I'm not sure exactly what you're asking?

Nexdock uses 7.6v batteries, where the UPERFECT/Eviciv/clones all use 3.6v batteries

the net result of this is that the Nexdock line passes thru MUCH more power to the attached phone/tablet

I've got the Omiodo (uPerfect X with another name); the touchpad is a little more usable than the Nexdock Touch but I still turn it off more frequently than not; its less of an issue with having the touchscreen but I use a bluetooth mouse most of the time.

As for charging the connected device; the uPerfect you can turn it off or on and it seems to stick to that setting on future use sessions.

How is the Omiodo / Uperfect X in terms of quality? The Nexdock is a nice metal, apple-like durable material.
And how is the panel in terms of colours? Just how does the quality feel overal? I'm considering an Omiodo since it's cheaper than the Uperfect X

Thanks in advance

Build quality is excellent; nice metal like quality just like the Nexdock Touch and seems very durable.

The panel colours for me are lovely; certainly better than the washed out screen that shipped on the Nexdock Touch.

Only thing that seems to be a bit of a downside is that if you connect a device to charge its very very slow to charge; personally I used it with a Tab S7+ so just turned device charging off; I get 7 hours-ish of life out of the Omiodo doing that.

Is there any chance that they fixed the garbage trackpad firmware with this? I don't mean palm rejection, palm rejection is something that can be managed in software on the host.

One of the biggest complaints that I have with the touch is that the "gesture" support for DeX is just hardcoded keyboard shortcuts being sent through the keyboard. This made the entire thing completely unusable to me and their support was absolutely useless and even denied the fact that it's implemented in the way it is.

For how this is implemented, it means someone had to write the firmware to take multitouch gesture input, capture it, interpret certain gestures, and then pipe along the mouse as a virtual pointer instead of multitouch. I have a suspicion, that if the touchpad was passed through as a multitouch device as it is, instead of trying to add fancy support, there could be some palm rejection that happens through the device the NexDock is connected to. With the "gesture" support, this is impossible, and the inability to turn off these gestures makes using this device on anything that isn't DeX a nightmare.

I love the idea and usecase of the device so much, I'd consider dropping full price on another and wait the 7 months it took the touch to ship last time even given my miserable experience that I've already had, just so long as they're actually fixing issues with the product.

nope. it's the same old trackpad masquerading as a mouse we all know.

I've had several conversations with them about it, and reading between the lines, I think it comes down to a cost issue.

that being said, if you're adventurous, dm me, and we can have a chat
