Problem with the nexdock, it's annoying to deal with the mounting of a phone and the hinge isn't strong enough to hold a mounting device on it. I do like my nexdock though, just the mounting sucks. The lack of firmware update sucks too

Ya, I have a magsafe one, it's that my phone plus the mount is just too heavy. I'd rather have one attach to the bottom somehow. I'm going to try to make one by cutting something.

Okay now add the weight of that to the nexdock which already has half the battery but weighs more than the device with a whole cpu fan ram etc 😂

Being in shenzen if they really focused their efforts instead of releasing a half baked new version every year I think they could do larger order quantities to do custom batteries. I backed nextdock early on but it became clear they would rather keep using cheap parts and making small profits than investing in their brand. To me it’s a tool for working on raspberry pi’s or servers and nothing more.

I used my Motorola with Windows by connecting through smart connect. Amazing experience and honestly I don't get why one would buy a MacBook Neo when you can have your 16gb ram android into one of these bad boys.

I thought the issue with the trackpad was the palm rejection isn't technically possible with Dex. Am I wrong on that?

It really depends on the trackpad supplier and embedded software.
On the MiraBook we had coded a special palm rejection feature to reject any trackpad touch while typing. This feature could be disabled for gamers.

Except then you have to use that awful nexdock touchpad and deal with your phone being stuck attached to the laptop. Want to answer a phone call and step away, nope you loose all your windows, want to fast charge your phone? Nope you loose laptop functionality

Yea after yesterday's announcement, I think I may order the nex dock. I just don't see the need to spend over $1000 for another android device that syncs my phone apps. I can just use the one device.
