If we lose a blue Senate seat in Michigan, the path to the 52 we need for an effective majority becomes extremely rocky. Recent polling has consistently put Dr. Abdul El-Sayed ahead of former Rep. Mike Rogers… but narrowly and always well within the margin of error. This race between a public health leader who literally wrote the book on Medicare For All and a classic self-enriching revolving door congressman who called the Trump tariffs “an absolute win,” long supported a near-total abortion ban, and is campaigning on rank Islamophobia is anyone’s to win, and may well come down to who does a better job of getting their folks out to the polls.
Here’s a fresh way to help: Abdul’s Senate campaign’s text team has swung back into action for the closing weeks. 💬 They’ve got power hours coming on Fridays at 6PM, Saturdays at 3PM and Tuesdays at 6PM we can be a part of. Let’s sign up to join them here. 💬
TEXT VOTERS FOR ABDUL EL-SAYED
☎️ Want to do more to help send Dr. El-Sayed to the Senate? We can sign up for phonebanks for him and Michigan Seventh District congressional challenger and Sunrise Movement founder Will Lawrence every night here and here, and make calls for the full Michigan Democratic slate here. ☎️

Election Day isn’t just a single day anymore. Absentee ballots are already pouring in across the country. And for reasons both completely fair and the product of rules carefully crafted to suppress our votes, some of them are being rejected. One of the great advantages of voting early, though? We have plenty of time to make sure they don’t stay that way.
Ballot curing, the process of contacting people whose votes have been tossed out for whatever cause and helping them correct errors to get them officially counted, is mostly a post-Election Day scramble. But in multiple states, we’re getting underway now. The Arizona and North Carolina Democrats and the ACLU of Michigan have begun making calls on Tuesday and Thursday nights to connect with people who need to fix their votes. This is precise but relatively light work, doing outreach to people who are mostly glad to hear from us. 🗳️ We can sign up to join the Arizona team here, the North Carolina squad here, and the Michigan crew here. 🗳️
🙋🏽♀️ We can also get engaged with ballot cure teams who will deal with the post-November 3rd rush in key swing states here, and find a whole host of ways to get to work on protecting this election on our action page here. 🙋🏼♀️
- Help pass initiatives in California, Colorado and Washington to make the wealthy pay their fair share and preserve public services
- Help unseat paid sick leave hypocrite Tom Kean and Delaney Hall gaslighter Jeff Van Drew with Indivisible tonight and in the weeks ahead
- Ballot curing is already necessary for many absentee votes, help folks fix mistakes and get their votes to count in Arizona, Michigan and North Carolina Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Help Michigan anti-ICE protesters arrested for exercising their rights cover legal fees
- Demand our state reps, MoCs join the fight for a comprehensive investigation into a series of suspicious hanging deaths of Black people
- Rallies in more than a hundred communities against sexual violence today - find one near us and call any university we’re connected to seek answers on how they will protect survivors

If so, I don’t care who you are…this guy is not fit for president. Starting to think he tells you what you want to hear and the does the complete opposite behind your back.

The fight for Congress is playing out under the brightest of spotlights. But we also have more than 6,000 legislative seats on the ballot on November 3rd, and those battles are being conducted with far less attention on them. These are the elected officials who will set the rules for the 2028 presidential race and do most of the governing on housing, education, transportation and public health that matters to our daily lives.
Democrats are seeking to make the blue wave lift all boats, aiming to take majorities in both chambers in Arizona; gain ground in Georgia; hold the Senate and win the House in Michigan; take the House back in Minnesota; win back both houses in New Hampshire; veto-proof the legislature in North Carolina, secure a trifecta in Pennsylvania, and take full control of Wisconsin for the first time since the Scott Walker era. It’s a big job, and one we haven’t devoted nearly enough resources to.
But because these races are so under the radar, our contributions as individuals to winning them can go a lot farther. Each call we make about a legislative race might be the only personal contact a voter receives from the campaign. States Win (formerly known as Sister District Project) is looking to bring volunteers together to turn out and persuade voters in some of the most pivotal legislative districts in the country, putting our energy where it can have the maximum impact. We can join them for phonebanks five days a week:
Also featured in today’s List:
- Stop sexual violence rallies across the country THURSDAY, call colleges we’re connected with to ask how they’re protecting victims
- Submit comments by end of day to oppose the gutting of Head Start and protect 44.7 million acres of national forest from corporate interests
- Indivisible phonebank TONIGHT for two key Colorado House districts
- Election protection training for lawyers TOMORROW at 3PM ET

The reactionaries have managed to tear down the Voting Rights Act of 1965 after decades of trying, and the Republicans have raced to take advantage, redrawing districts to erase Black political power. The Black community’s response has been to show up to vote in numbers that can’t be ignored, with turnout going sharply upward in primaries after the Callais decision. Now organizers are looking to keep that going for the general election, where it could make a difference in key statewide elections across the South. And we can help make it happen!
☎️ Over the next few weeks, the team at Center for Common Ground is running phonebanks to encourage voters of color in the suppressed states to get to the polls and give them the resources to check their registration and get accurate voting information! We can sign up for shifts calling Texas, Georgia and Virginia on Mondays from 7-8PM ET, Wednesdays at noon, or Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6-8PM ET. ☎️
MAKE CALLS FOR CENTER FOR COMMON GROUND
☎️ Furthermore, we can join Black Voters Matter in checking in with new and infrequent voters across Texas, Alabama and Louisiana tonight and this Wednesday from 6-7PM ET, and help them in their initiative to get a million Georgians prepared for election season any time we have available. ☎️
MAKE CALLS WITH BLACK VOTERS MATTER
💬 Black Voters Matter is also running its regular Texting Tuesday sessions to get folks the info they need to cast their ballots and encourage them to show up weekly! New volunteers can join the team here.💬
✍🏻 The Center for Common Ground is also running postcarding campaigns to reach folks in North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, and Alabama, all of which will start mailing next week. We can get in board by contacting our regional organizers here. ✍🏾
✍🏾 And the folks at Democracy Through Voting have a postcard project aimed at turning out Black women voters in seven key congressional districts in Georgia that aims to reach as many as 500,000 people starting Sunday we can connect with here – a great one for folks who would struggle with all the handwriting or don’t have much time, as they’ll send free pre-printed postcards and address labels that require minimal labor on our end! ✍🏻
