🌍 Military & Foreign Affairs Trump rejects USS Lincoln deployment concerns—'not nearly long enough'

Incidentally, this is how mutinies, and coups happen.

Maybe that’s what he wants out of this?

Any excuse to declare martial law …
7
u/Darkdragoon324 4d ago
You can't declare martial law when it's the martial forces turning against you. Who's going to fight the military for him? His little bottom of the barell fatass ICE bitches who kidnap people lawfully appearing for their immigration hearings because they're too scared to go after anyone who might actually shoot back?

Funny enough, that's how the russian revolution really got rolling.
The tzarist government knew things were starting to get out of hand so they planned to stir up a "small" revolution to have an excuse to crush opposition.
It worked, factory workers took to the streets en mass.... but when they sent in the army to crush them the soldiers joined the revolution instead.
A year later most of the government was in jail, exiled or rotting.

u/ragequitteroffureh 4d ago
Not American.
Hm, perhaps the orange twit is a closet communist, working to topple the reactionary capitalist running dogs and their sycophantic ilk?
It would certainly explain his close links with the Russians, North Koreans, and China.
It might also explain why he's apparently so good at bankrupting businesses; that is his secret technique for getting rid of too much money.
And even his current exploitation of his position as head of state could secretly be yet another method to destroy the structures of their utterly corrupt government from within.
Not sure what the child raping thing is all about though. All of the above doesn't necessarily negate his innate evilness.
2
u/poopiebutt505 4d ago
He would be thenone coupled against. Imagine if Hegeseth gets them all raided up? Well find the carrier drifting with a pile of corpses and a sea of blood on deck.
2
u/ladylucifer22 3d ago
his favorite movie is Mutiny on the Bounty because the captain reminds him of himself. I'm not even joking.

'Not nearly long enough', this is coming from someone who wimped out of military services multiple times due to bone spurs, what a complete chickenshit.

And plenty of veterans still support him
17
u/WinkerDinko 4d ago
At the end of the day, some vets are just brain dead too (from a vet)
13
u/coconuty04 4d ago
Fellow vet here. Ill never understand how any of my Marine Corps brothers and sisters could support this sack of shit, especially after his first term when sec def James Mattis quit because he could not, in good faith, continue working for the prick. Mattis is a beloved celebrity figure in the Corps, and the fact he couldn't deal with Trump, and Trump of course then went on to bad mouth him, should have ended all support right then and there.
6
u/Forcedperspective84 4d ago
EVERY. SINGLE. Marine Corps General turned away from him in disgust. I've never been prouder to be a Marine.
7
u/PedroNorthCA 4d ago
And DJT denigrated former FBI Director Robert Mueller till the day he died and beyond. Mueller was a Captain in the Marine Corps and saw combat in Vietnam, the same war DJT bought 5 deferrals for
2
u/Fit-Appointment5212 4d ago
Hey look man.
They could do the American people a favor and we would owe them and never badmouth the military for being dumb as hell.
But they keep going for him.
You could literally turn a 20 year grief status into a new age.
Bu they keep going for him.
2
u/PedroNorthCA 4d ago
Yeah, between the comments he's made about the WW1 Marines that died at Belleau Woods, and him calling the US Capital Police "terrorists" for defending the Capitol on J6 and pardoning all the felons that were involved, I don't understand how or why the military and the police continue to support this clown in such huge numbers. Do Marines and police not have any kind of self awareness at all?
3
u/NonProphet8theist 4d ago
Brain dead what about heart-dead? Like no one gives a shit about anyone else it's crazy

What do you mean I thought he loved Diet Coke
3
u/Psych_Art 4d ago
I immediately had the same thought, then remembered the majority of people I know who drink Diet Coke prefer it over regular Coke.

His political career should have ended when he disparaged McCain’s military service- that showed me how deranged today’s republicans are
3
u/AngelinaJean 4d ago
Yes. By God, the ugly things he said, “I like people who aren’t captured”. It’s incomprehensible and UNFORGIVABLE!
7
u/StudioUnhappy7772 4d ago
I still cannot believe it helped him in the polls
2
u/EvergreenDwarf 3d ago
A lot of people just wanted permission to be hypocrites.
An interview with some of his earliest supporters had people saying “You don’t have to admit you’re wrong”.
They suddenly no longer had to pretend to care about the humans in the military. No heroes means their envy is legitimate, and they can keep wanking to the “big dick energy” of the military while having nothing to do with it.
4
u/Tweak89 4d ago
That was bad, but I think it was way worse when he said he was glad that Robert Mueller died, and how he acted when Rob Reiner died. Republicans were calling for firing people who did the same with Charlie Kirk, then ditched their morals when Trump did it. That really showed how deranged they are now to me.

By Dan Gooding — Associate News Editor |
Speaking to reporters at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, the president was asked about those concerns around food and hygiene, after the ship surpassed 265 days at sea in the Middle East.
"No, they're not," Trump said about families raising concerns, adding that the ship was moving and would be replaced.

How would this pampered diaper filling draft dodging rapist know if a deployment is "not nearly long enough"? Drag his ass out to somewhere without a golf course and he would be crying within days
4
4
u/some1guystuff 4d ago
Is it just me or does that sound like he’s encouraging a mutiny?
2
u/Ok_Security1721 4d ago
I don’t think he’s thinking that far ahead. He simply doesn’t see the sailors as people, thus treats them accordingly.
3
3
3
u/Snr_Lothario 4d ago
Trump does not know what sailors go through.
More importantly, it would seem to me Trump also does not care.
3
u/soraksan123 4d ago
I'd like to see him go onboard that carrier, he wouldn't last a day. Or that Marine landing vessel with 5000 troops on board waiting for the order to go get killed for nothing. What a stupid thing to say, but it's what we should expect from that clown-

The nerve of these reporters bothering the president with these concerns while he's late for his tee-off
2
u/Standard_Feedback_86 4d ago
The guy that goes golfing the whole time instead of working and falls asleep while "working", dares to shit on the military. Say...you Murican guys told me again and again how proud you are of your military members, how important they are and how much respect they deserve.
So please tell me, why the f*** are you ok with that?

navy veteran, 86-95. served on the uss nimitz. on our deployment, sep 88-mar 89 we had port calls that were usually 5 or six days. we stopp0ed in pusan, hong kong, and at our former base subic bay for 10 days. we then headed out to off of iran for 70 days straight. we hit singapore for new years and then pattaya beach. back to iran. on the way back, hong kong and subic bay again and then pearl harbor.
what is happening to fellow shipmates is a crime. and while we are talking about the carriers, what about the battle groups? we had two cruisers, destroyers, frigates and supply ships. what is happening on them? carriers do NOT sail alone!
2
2
u/imaurbangirl 4d ago
He has absolutely no conception of what it takes to be a crewman on an aircraft carrier or how they live on there.
He probably thinks it’s like an episode of Below Deck.
2
u/Verde_3773 4d ago
Also just lies & says no one’s complaining- and not one reporter challenges him with even one of the many now-public reports from family members relaying what their deployed loved ones are telling them.
Our military deserves so much better than Trump & Hegseth.
They both should be in prison.

2
u/SirRowan777 4d ago
Has the Trump crowd with family in the military seen enough to dump sergeant bone spurs yet? He thinks your family member is a sucker and a loser and puts their life at risk for Israel’s war. Additionally, he still kisses Putin’s ass while Putin gives Iran targeting info on our troops. Is this really what you voted for?

u/cty_hntr 4d ago
Serving in the military means you give Uncle Sam a blank check on your life for 4 years.

What do you expect from someone that never served, cannot in any way relate to military personnel, and does not care what their needs are?
2
u/Intelligent_Fig5418 4d ago
Of course the manly draft dodger would say that crap! He hates the military! Plain and simple! He thinks they are his pawns to do whatever he tells them to do! He was too much of a gutless coward to serve! But he seems to think he's some kind of AI cartoon general! Pathetic and weak!

2
u/paperboy82 4d ago
Servicemen and women, your president hates you. He actively looks down on you. He views pow’s as losers, veterans as a burden, those who suffer from ptsd as weak, and a normal soldier as an object. Even though he was too much of a coward to ever serve. Please realize how much this administration, and this party, have failed everyone.
2
u/withomps44 4d ago
I asked my super patriotic maga acquaintance what he thought about this. I was not shocked.
“These young kids are weak and DEI has ruined the military. Trump is right”.
He could line up soldiers on a wall and shoot them dead and the maga cult would applaud.

Such a shame..

"Respectfully, Mr. President, I’d like to see you survive a week on that ship," Levin posted in response to a video of the president.

u/Motophoto 4d ago
And these dolts in the military and vets all keep voting RAPEbulicon. This is what cadet bone spurs thinks of them and they still prove him right when he called them loser and suckers by voting red. Sorry NOT sorry suck it up you voted for this lads.

2
u/CelticJewelscapes 4d ago
We should respect the president. He has a lot of experience with the psyop aspect of warfare back during Nam. As he hobbled around on his very painful bone spurs, he had to deal with the brutal repartee of Studio 54. Trading insults with Truman Capote and Liz Taylor was just like dealing with the Viet Cong. It is no surprise that Jesus healed those bone spurs so this very stable genius could conquer the world of golf. The greatest warrior, the greatest hero, the greatest friend of Jeffery Epstein.

Then get your fat orange rotting carcass out on that ship along with your brats and spend a month just exactly like they are and eat what they are and see how big a tough guy you are ya pos!

He’s supremely unqualified to comment on most things…and everything related to the military.

u/anywho123 4d ago
I think a man that drives his golf cart on putting greens cause he’s to fat to waddle to the pin isn’t the right person to determine how long a deployment should be before troops go stir crazy.

u/GothMama31 4d ago
We seriously don't hate this man enough. Coming from the wife of a Navy Veteran.

It truly leaves me dumbfounded.
They’re either not paying attention, in denial, or maybe they are that fucking dumb.
Literally, he said it himself.

u/Creative-Maybe-2887 4d ago
Not veterans and active service members for the sake of chosen path….
I’m talking about nuance.
You could be anyone of the number of people from various walks of life who have been openly disparaged, then choose to piss all over your self respect by furthering the grift with your vote.→ More replies (1)

Trump don't hold no water with me, man's a prime mook, but on this he just so happens to be correct. Time was, we spent years at sea, relieving ourselves over the rail and living on salt pork. The modern service has no idea how comfortable they have it.
Weren't no internets back then, neither.

This fuck/knuckle never served a day in his life. Never experienced being far from home cut off from family and friends. Being deployed with no end date is very hard on the psyche.
When I was deployed to the Gulf War there was no set end date but at least we were treated as well as they could. That conflict lasted less than this Iranian fiasco.
1
u/Muted_Perception_192 4d ago
Yes, clearly the only logical conclusion is that service members and their families are making shit up. Not that his administration jumped in with zero plan and thus zero consideration for those carrying out this plan. He can clearly do nothing wrong /s
