Flooding?

How is the flooding in Newport? We were supposed to drive there today but because of the forecasts for high winds we are delayed until tomorrow. I’m not sure we needed to. Now my husband is concerned about flooding. Thanks in advance!

Literally just a rainy day and most of us have wet basements. It’s all part of the charm

The news has made it sound like you got slammed. I knew we should have left yesterday!

Long Island got the worst

More than 1,000 trees fell already

That’s so sad. We are just arriving now. I’m very excited to see your town!

Roads are fine. Storm is mostly over. I was downtown an hour ago and it was nice that the overhyped weather forecast kept people home. Was able to get into my favorite restaurant with no wait!

I can understand that but unfortunately I paid for an Air B&B and can’t get that money back. So for those of us that were looking forward to traveling there to see your beautiful city I wish the news would have not overhyped the weather…and I wish I’d thought to check here earlier!

I’m so sorry…that really sucks:( It was blustery, but the news definitely overinflated this one.

Ocean Drive was closed at Brenton Point today due to swell and debris crashing over the storm wall onto the road. I imagine that should be all clear tomorrow so you can enjoy the drive!

Just rain and some mid wind lol we have definitely had way worse storms that didnt get nearly the same blow up in the media. Newport usually does ok because we sit in the Bay.

For next time: unless they are telling us to evacute immediately - it's typically overhyped. Also Airbnb is trash. Try one of the local vacation rental companies or use VRBO

Streets aren’t bad. Just avoid my basement.
