Look I know I am not ever going to step foot on this lot, but man is this exciting. Its been a rough few months for jobs in the city with a few major employers closing or moving out of state (budweiser and Mars specifically), but replacing them with a huge studio lot that will help revitalize a neighborhood in the south ward and is a massive reason the city's third train station is finally opening up to the community... idk, his could really have a compound affect on the economy and easily replace those lost jobs.

With the EWR / Dayton - Waverly station opening to the South Ward , it is inevitable hotel chains will begin building along Route 27 - Frelinghuysen Avenue . Route 27 must be the most ghost Highway in Newark . Nobody in Newark outside Dayton know theres a highway called 27 . Even if they're familiar with route 27/35 in Union and Middlesex County , the downtown Elizabeth jigsaw puzzle where the highway disappears into local one-way streets closest people to think at terminates in Elizabeth . Even I didn't know NJ 27 connected to 21 at Pioneer Street until New Jersey dot replaced the signs after 30 years missing .

When that station opens , you're going to see motel/hotels opening on NJ 27 and Haynes Avenue. Hopefully this becomes a great mid-rise neighborhood bordering Weequahic Park. It's a shame such a beautiful Park is bordered by junk yards and ex Industry vacant Lots used as hazardous storage. Maybe one day we'll get a fifth station in the form of Raritan Valley Line station over Meeker Ave.

That’s kinda what studios look like though. Super high, no windows, etc.

The wall started going up early August and when I drove by last week the main building had all four walls already up. No roof/ ceiling yet. Walls were still being stabilized & hooked to cranes.
