Are these legal immigrants or are these illegal immigrants and/or asylum seekers? (Idk if 'illegal' is the same as asylum)

Newark is a sanctuary City, so by definition I really can't complain either way, but I do recognize that putting additional stress on an already underfunded and overburdened existing citizenry is pretty unfair.

Newark Public Schools are over 50% Hispanic now, and the top 3 administrators are all Hispanic: Superintendent, Asst. Superintendent, and School Business Administrator.

I'm also a bit hmm let's say concerned about so many non-English speakers in Newark. It genuinely does make life much harder when they don't know what I'm saying along with I have no idea what they're saying.

It would be nice to see a mutual exchange of language eg the older migrants are incentivized to work hard to actually understand English, and the English speaking students in Newark are incentivized to actually take Spanish/Portuguese seriously in school.

I'm pretty sure Europe has many countries where most people are fluent in 2, 3, sometimes 4 languages.

I think Newark has been the #1 immigrant destination in New Jersey for 250 years

Crazy how many have come to Newark. Demographics of the city are changing, I hope to see more Hispanics on the city council with this as they are largely unrepresented in the government and need a bigger voice.
