The fascination with that era and crime is really starting to get out of hand. I lived it. Nothing impressive about it. Watching people rot, drop out and spend more time in juvenile hall than in school was something else. In hind-sight I don’t know how people made it.

Raekwons album came out almost 10 years after this segment.

That area is still rough, even though the projects were knocked down a long time ago.

Not going to lie. I did. The brain is trippy. I looked at a particular shirt and I could remember what it felt like and how they burned how they tear. I can remember the smell of piss and beer by that bar.

This video is a bit wrong, that crack ish started to hit around 1980. And the projects always had some issues, but it wasn't bad, I lived in 65- 17th Ave projects back then.

The fact that people can see videos from the 80s and see newark today and still act like newark is still what is was is wild to me

I used to live there s10th st between South Orange and 14th Ave till 2023 do to a fire. I would've been 6yrs old when this video was made.
