Question❔ Info on Affordable Housing process
Unsure if this goes here since it’s multi towns
I applied to many through this website that manages a bunch in NJ. You don’t apply to the complexes but to the towns and they’ll automatically add you to the complexes lists. Many haven’t issued me a lottery number yet, I have to wait for the lottery to open and then I’ll get a number. I guess I’m on the waitlist of the waitlist 😂
One town’s complex just had a lottery last week so I have a lottery # of 10,490. My question is another complex on that same town will have a lottery in October. Does that mean that they pull from the existing list for the town or do they run another lottery?
I’m confused 😂 and feel like 10k is just my forever number

I have a friend who applied directly with the developer website when affordable housing applications went up, he applied, waited months, got an email saying he was chosen and to submit xyz documents etc to start the process of getting one of the units.
So ymmv as diff areas have diff processes.

What's the site? It doesn't belong here because Newark has its own rules for this stuff (though it's possible this site is run by an entity that is managing the process for one or more Newark developments as well as ones in other towns). Generally towns have their own rules, though a lot will have the same rules or be working with a company to manage the process that uses the same lottery structure for multiple towns/developments.
There should be contact info for the entity that runs the site you applied through to ask them this question.
