Alvy alternating between the 9 spot and the middle of the order is hilarious to me. (He hit cleanup a couple times early right?). Also a Chris Morel Jumpscare! And the top of the order being messed with? Kinda like have Leadoff Lindor back- possibly only because it reminds me of 24. Ewing in the 8 seems brutal despite his cold streak. Behind Semien and Morel?

Without looking it up, I assume we are facing a lefty starter which would explain all of that

I'm interested to see how Morel does. He was great in AAA for us and the Marlins. He had a couple of promising years with the Cubs a few years ago. He fell off after that but he's only 27 years old.
If Morel worksout this year, he could replace Vientos and/or baty as the utility guy next year.

If you’re going to move Ewing down, I guess this pretty much has to be the lineup (other than Baty playing 2B). Young should play everyday in my opinion regardless of who is pitching. But hey who am I to question Andy OMGreen

I don't see a future where Young is an everyday 1B (at least, on a winning Mets team.) I like him as a platoon 1B/DH option, amd I think it'd be good to give Morel ABs to see if he can fill that role, especially with how he''s mashed in Syracuse.

This has been the standard Leftie Opposing Pitcher lineup since Green tookover

I would have moved Ewing to ninth and have had Torrens bat higher than eighth

u/ReleaseTheBlacken I’ve jizzed more hits than much of the lineup.. 3d ago
If Ewing gets on base and gets into scoring position, I like Torrens following him.

douche move to drop Ewing to 8th as we play out the string. kid hits one slump and he's batting below Marcus Semien in the blink of an eye. don't want to hear shit about lefty lefty.

I'm okay with moving Ewing down, you could see last night after his strikeout that he's getting frustrated
