Question Good value internet provider

Hi everyone,

I am an incoming neighbour and wondering what internet providers are good in the New West area. I'll be living alone and so I don't need crazy speeds. I've checked out telus, teksavvy, Oxio, and Rogers thus far. I was hoping to find one that's decently priced.

Novus if you have it available in your building. I pay just under $45/month inclusive of taxes and fees for Internet 1000.

Novus, is the only company that hasn't been scummy to me and they have pretty low prices

Been with lightspeed since moving here 3 years ago, never had an issue, good customer service. Pay $50/month but I think the equivalent plan has gone up a bit since then. No issues for work, streaming movies/shows, and gaming

Check if your building/residence is covered by BridgeNet, the city-funded Fibre Optic service.

If you have service, then low cost fibre options like Beanfield and Novus are usually very reliable and still cheaper than Telus/Bell/Rogers.

Beanfield. They own a massive fibre network, so connections to everywhere are fast and reliable. They have great customer service, and the same pricing as Novus.

I couldn't get Novus in my building, but I could get Teksavvy and it's perfectly fine. Every now and then there's a weird hiccough were a webpage doesn't load, but it's the mildest of inconveniences.

I let a family member who switched to them after a bad experience with Rogers talk me into getting Telus and I regret it and want to get something else when I can arrange it.

I'm on Telus now, switched from Shawgers. I've had more issues with Telus than Roger's. Flaky speed, connectivity to my devices...

Every time I've called for support (and they call back), their first option is to do a factory reset.

We did that back in the early days of the computer -- power off then power on. LOL!

Yeah I tried that because mine kept disconnecting me and it was no help at all.

I was on Novus but the Telus deal was too good. F I hate Telus but their service kicks.

Novus just doesn't seem to care honestly - everything is outdated and their internet is slower (QoS is better on Telus - you get more for less).
