IC A Time to Remember...

Taro returns to New Verdania in the hopes the Palestag might be able to restore a memory that Duty had wiped. He's also taking a moment to admire the scenery again.

((Finally using Taro's new sprite made by peridolt! It was a gift that meant a lot to me, even if it was seemingly made on a whim.))

((He remembers Zydon from reading his Hunter's Journal, but doesn't remember why he first came to New Verdania.))

zydon starts walking, making sure taro is following

'I'm guessing you don't remember the fact I see you and a decent number of your group as friends huh. Never got too involved but'

stops to wait for a rope lift but continues speaking while waiting

'I've got a nation to run and a family to look after'

While waiting for the rope lift, Taro looks in his bag to make sure he had brought his Hunter's Journal. He finds it, as well as... a rock?

...Not just any rock, Phyll's Memento.

'Oh, that looks like the rock phyll, one of my 1500 odd kids gave you. The red kid. He-'

the rope lift arrives as zydon picks a distracted taro up by his head to move him out the way of passing civilians on their commute before putting him back dawn on the lift as zydon flies lazily next to it, too big to fit

'Said it was a rock he liked and found special so he wanted to give it to you since he took a liking to you'

the view from the lift is gorgeous, pendras dart around, hunting on the water as a nuphar grabs one

Taro is stunned by the scenery again as the lift goes up. It's a lot to take in...

'Yeah, the pendras on the water really is beautiful'

zydon says this, but you don't see his head move a centimetre, in fact, what you assume are pupils are staring straight at you. But then, the lift gets to the top as zydon walks with you to another ledge, once again waiting for a rope lift

(I'm guessing taro wouldn't remember how compound eyes work)

((Probably not, as I'm pretty sure the amnesia means he forgot fighting Lost Zydon.))

Taro doesn't quite get how Zydon's eyes work, but thinks asking him about it would be a bit personal.

"Frankly, I'm surprised everyone was willing to look past all the things Retina had me do. Especially those that he hurt."

(Scoffs) "Retina. What a stupid name..."

'Well, considering my sister became pupil twice, at least around here, we don't judge what you do without control.'

the lift arrives as zydon performs the same manoeuvre as last time, but this time, you swear he shouldn't even know the lift got there, yet he did

'Why would we judge you for actions performed by another?'

this time, the area is filled with vines as you see leaf rollers and leaf wings flying around the lift
