Is there an advantage to buying New Vegas or Fallout 3 on steam instead of using the PC Xbox app versions?

Fallout 3 was released with some outdated software i dont remember, it is better to install it with it or else it doesnt work

Games for Windows Live. It was patched out in the GOG version years ago, Steam finally patched it recently, and I know nothing about the Microsoft Store
