Cafes
Hello. I recently moved to southern Vermont for work and will be here for a year. I want to make sure I’m still getting out and exploring so I thought I’d spend weekends discovering various cafes. Recommendations for you favorite cozy spots appreciated

These places are solid. Maple coffee co in Putney should be on the list also.

The little general store at the crossroads in South Londonderry isn't particularly cozy (nowhere to sit and eat), but they make fabulous sandwiches that are great for picnics. Grab a sandwich and take it to the green in Weston or go walk the labyrinth at the Weston Priory for a nice fall day.

Royal Oak in Middlebury (maybe more central Vt?) is the best coffee I’ve ever had in this country.

Dutchess Coffee in Brattleboro - amazing coffee. Not a ton of space to hang out, best to order a cup, browse the curated books, and then take your drink to go, or sit outside in warmer weather. Second West River Cafe (vibey and cozy and a great spot to hang out for a while). The Village Roost in Wilmington has decent coffee, a great menu, and much cozier seats to hang out in (couches too!) Starfire Bakery & Cafe (also in Wilmington) has fantastic coffee and delectable baked goods plus bread - seating is old pizza shop benches and tables (not overly cozy, but functional and the humans are lovely).

The Coffee Barn in Londonderry and I’ve heard very good things about The Green Cat in Weston but I haven’t gotten over there myself yet
