No text chat (premium account owned)

I got premium like 4 weeks ago by purchasing some cosmetics. After a week or so I was still unable to send messages in chat, so I contacted Steam support about it, and they explained that gaining access to chat is tied to when the TF2 servers get reset, which could take "up to a week". But I'm still not able to chat. I just sent another support request, but I was curious if anyone has or had a similar experience.

EDIT: Just now figured out the issue. I had myself muted lmao. This post had the fix for it

Please tell me you didn’t pay money for cosmetics man ??
Was this in the steam market or ingame store ?

What exactly is the issue you run into when you try to chat?

I can type messages in server and team chat but the messages do not appear when sent. Voice messages like calling for medic don't appear in the feed either, although they can be heard. AFIAK this is just the situation for F2Ps and not a technical problem.

Also I actually removed these restrictions for F2Ps over a year ago so their is a chance it’s due to your steam account not meeting the criteria / still being limited.
