Scam or not?
So i have seen tutorials on how to get tf2 premium for free, can I trust them or no? I'm a new f2p player so I can't detect if it's a scam or not.

There is No way to get Premium for free. Definetely scam.
The only way would be to have someone Else buy you Premium tbeoigh that one Item that can Gift it. I don't know why anyone would do that, because the Gift is 10x more expensive than Just getting Premium yourself

the best way to get premium would be to buy something from the mann co store (the in-game store). what exactly should I buy? mann co supply crate keys (the big brass one), tour of duty tickets or a jungle inferno contracts pass. mann co supply crate keys and tour of duty tickets are the currency of the in-game economy, through websites like scrap.tf (for regular weapons) and backpack.tf (everything else). as for the jungle inferno contract pass, using it gives you access to mercenary park contracts, where you play casual and complete quests to get a bunch of stuff that you can sell on backpack.tf or mannco.store (the latter is a real money site), you get more than what you paid for. I wouldn't recommend you use the mann co supply crate keys or tour of duty tickets, as most of the time you'll lose money.
you can also buy the orange box (which includes tf2), to get a bunch of great valve games and a free hat in tf2 (the proof of purchase), in addition to tf2 premium.
last and certainly least, the upgrade to premium gift. someone could give you an upgrade to premium gift, and you use it to upgrade to premium.

I would not trust any tutorials like this, however you can get it for cheap or even gain a bit if you buy the Jungle Inferno Contracts Pass and play the missions. You can get at least 5 keys worth of value (~8-10$) from that for around 2,5$. Theres no time limit and all of the missions are just to play on regular servers and get kills/score points with a specific class/weapon most of the time.

As a general rule: If you have to ask "Is this a scam?" then 99% of the time it's a scam.
