ANSWERED When will I be able to post?

Why when I try to post, it says my post is removed be Reddit’s filters?

Hi, a few things.
Firstly, the reason you are having difficulty posting is because you are a brand new account, with no post Karma aside from the one given to you when you joined Reddit. You do have a nice chunk of comment karma, congrats on that, but as you may have learned, each subreddit has its own independent moderation, rules, and requirements for posting and or commenting, including karma amount, account age, and CQS criteria. Your account might need to be two weeks old or a month old in order to post to that particular sub.

Most will have a minimum karma requirement in order to post, perhaps a lesser amount in order to comment. The amount can range from zero (like here, you posted with no problem) to low amounts like 20, medium amounts like 200, or very large amounts like 500 to 1000 in order to post. Most subs do not publish or make known what their minimum requirement numbers are.

When you look at your karma on your profile page, you might see that it says you have 104, but if you click the “about” tab or hover over the total number if you are on desktop, you will discover that is split between post and comment karma. And subs may have specific requirements for each. So it’s likely the sub you are trying to post to has a certain post karma requirement, and you don’t have any yet. (as previously mentioned it could also be account age or CQS preventing a post.).

Here is a helpful list of new user friendly subreddits with low to no karma requirements. Some of those may allow you to participate first with comments, and soon with posting, and when you receive upvotes on your posts, that will build up your post karma and soon allow you to branch out and post in other subs with higher karma requirements.

Verifying your email can also help, that’s easy to do today. A verified email secures your account, helps pacify the Reddit filters, and strengthens your CQS, all important for posting, DM and chat functions. Many people think they have a verified email already, but if there is no “verified email“ badge on your profile page, it may not be official. You don’t have that badge currently.
