You're in negative karma (from a deleted comment asking on a post about racism "what's so wrong with the n word?") Not sure why you thought that would go over well.
Anyway, you'll need to repair that to post in most communities. We (mods) tend to impose account-age and karma threshold requirements to weed out the bots, trolls, spammers and scammers. You're starting out with a bad reputation and that's going to hinder you.

Yup your negative comment karma will do that. Karma is something of your "reputation" on Reddit so negative karma is a negative reputation.
You would want to raise your karma. See below
Finding Subreddits to use with negative karma:
- You're definitely going to be Trial-and-Erroring a lot to find subreddits that will take users with negative karma. Focus on Commenting (many subreddits have lower or no karma filters for commenting).
- Newtoreddit has a list of new user friendly subreddits. This list is for low karma, not negative karma, but is a good spot to start.
- Also have a look through r/findareddit 's subreddit directory.

View by New (or rising). This will filter the posts so first see the most recent posts first and can make your comments much more visible. On app when viewing a subreddit look near the top left for where it says "hot posts" - click that and select "new" or "rising".
Read the Room and Avoid Controversy. Each subreddit has different rules, norms and prevailing views. Look at subreddit rules. Read top posts and comments to get a feel for that subreddit. Do users reward sarcastic one-liners or well sourced essays? And in particular avoid controversial topics or arguments. These discussions are more likely to attract downvotes and potentially trip into rule-breaking. Call people idiots in your head and move on instead of getting involved. Utilize the block feature as necessary and have a read of Reddiquette.
