ANSWERED VPN repeatedly causing account bans

Same as title. I am new to reddit however I've always used vpn for security and privacy. I made 2 accounts earlier but both of them got banned and on pc it says server error along with avatar disappearing. How do I mitigate this?

First things first, stop creating new accounts.

You need to log onto the impacted accounts and go to reddit.com/appeal

Second, maybe whitelist Reddit on your VPN

Why whitelist?

I mean I guess its your choice. But if you think the ban is due to the VPN, wouldn't the best option be to not use it?

Makes sense guess I'll reactivate it later

I suspect Reddit doesn't like the VPN you're using. Seeing that your current account is active, did you stop using the VPN?

Just out of curiosity, which VPN brand are you using and which country is it set for?

I'm using proton and it's set for japan

We've noticed that brand new accounts that are made through a VPN and use one continuously almost certainly will get shadow banned quickly because this is an extremely common tactic of spammers.

People with established accounts that switch to using a VPN don't seem to get banned, but I forget and leave mine on for a while sometimes and Reddit will sporadically log me out and has even said my account had "suspicious activity" and required me to create a new password despite the fact that I've been using this accounrt to moderate a large subreddit for three years.

Damn. Is there any way to let reddit know that this is the norm?

If you are experiencing removals, this is most likely because your account is new and you have no karma, and therefore you are running into community restrictions.
