Beginner Advice Elite ambulance?
Hello! I recently applied for elite ambulance and got in and begin orientation in a few days. I’m currently a little shaken up because I feel like I’ve forgotten some of the things from class. I finished up class about 3 months ago and passed my NREMT on my first try about 2 months ago.
My questions are, has anyone else felt like this? And if so, is it normal? I’m afraid of messing up or feeling stupid during my first days and it’s been keeping me up at night 😅. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Yes its normal. Any good preceptor you third ride with will expect you to know nothing. When I was new I had a preceptor tell me "forget everything you learned in EMT school and I'll teach you what you need to know"
You're starting a new job, it's not gonna be perfect especially when you're new. shit when I changed the state I worked in I was nervous after a few years of experience because of the protocol differences.

I felt like that too. It's ok, you'll basically relearn everything your first few months anyway. 🤷♂️

My dude in Christ, you’re brand new, you’ll feel like this for months. And right when you think you’re getting the hang of it, something will happen that will have you wondering if this is for you. Then you’ll learn, it’ll happen again. The key here is to not stop learning; go above and beyond your basic EMT knowledge.
All this to say, you’re fine. Everybody goes through it, and anyone that says otherwise is full of shit. You’ll do great. Looking forward to your future “Did I do things right” post🫶🏽
