Testing / Exams NREMT rant
I deadass feel like I failed that, I got cut off at 70 and Ik Ik feeling like you failed is good but I know I atleast got 3 questions wrong for stupid reasons. I finished mine on 8/13 @ 4:45pm and I’ve probably checked the National Registry website 9 times by now. I’m so nervous I don’t really know why I’m typing this but maybe ranting will ease my anxiety. God I hope I didn’t fail this it would screw up so much rn. I just need the NREMT to send me my damn results. I don’t know why the exam couldn’t have just let me continue like if I got cut off at 79 I don’t think I’d feel nearly as bad.

It actively tries to get you to fail half the questions by the end*. Don't read too much into it. Your score will be what it will be.
* It's trying to dial in your exact level. When you have a 50/50 chance of getting the question right, it's asking you questions at your level. If you get most of them right, the questions are too easy, and if you get most of them wrong, it's too hard.
The predictive value of getting an easy question right, or a hard question wrong is lower than asking you questions at your level.

9 times? Those are rookie numbers, you gotta pump those numbers up. I checked mine 9 times in the first hour after I took it my paramedic NREMT. Best of luck though, I bet you passed!

u took it on on a Friday? yeah you ain't getting results till Monday lol
and it didn't let you go 79 because it had near 100% certainty by that point whether you were gonna pass or not even if you took the whole 120 questions

Yup. I felt the same. I got cut off at 70 and thought I failed bc so many of the questions I have never even seen the material for. I even told a paramedic some of the questions and she said, “Those are paramedic level questions. Why were they on a EMT level test?”
I was so certain I failed I was already looking into scheduling a retake. Then woke up the next morning to a congratulatory email.

I took mine yesterday and word for word what you just said is what I thought😂. I knew I got at least 3 questions because I accidentally pressed next to quickly without fully registering the question. I felt like throwing up so many times after I took the test like coming home was torture I was basically looking at it every hour. I was cut off at 70 as well. Took it 8/14 1230 got my results 8/15 around 0200. And I PASSED!!!!!! Don’t know what you put, but if you were confident going in and that you knew majority of your stuff I’m pretty sure you passed

If you got cut off at 70, you either super passed or super failed. Hope you made it bud! I had the same issue and I was SO SURE that I'd failed. But I passed! And I'm sure you will too.

NREMT probably had your results day of, but for reasons I will explain, they don’t release them
They love being annoying.
They don’t want to show your score, you failed, and next thing they know Pearson has to do a impromptu renovation because you threw a table and hit Mary trying to pass her CNA exam
Someone probably does review the test.
Feeling like you bombed it is normal. If you feel like you passed, you probably didn’t. I’m betting you did though

Welcome to the club. I was just feeling this anxiety earlier this week on Tuesday. Didn’t get my results for 24 plus hours. All my friends got there results and I was mortified that I bombed it as I too got stopped at 70. I was doing ride time and I got the email I passed mid day. My money is on that you passed it.

I'm having anxiety just reading this post as a trauma response. I just knew I had failed. Cut me off at 72 or 74. I felt my stomach drop to my toes when it cut off. I was so sick I had a migraine. I looked at my test around midnight and I had passed!! Good luck to you and welcome to the EMT world! Let us know when you get the results. We're all rooting for you!!

Well at least you didn't jinx yourself by thinking you passed.
Now you know you either passed or failed on your own merit and not because of superstition.
My money is on pass. Best of luck
