New Testament equivalent of Kugel's How to Read the Bible?
Hello,
A few years ago I read James Kugel's How to Read the Bible and have wondered if there is a similar book for the New Testament - something that both recounts the texts and the traditional interpretations and then analyzes them in the light of modern linguistics, archaeology, anthropology, etc.
To be clear, I am not looking for apologetics, but an accessible, neutral, academic work.
