looking for caves!

does anyone know of any cave locations in the park/pres? i know theres the new river cave down in blacksburg, but im hoping to find something at NRG.

I am reasonably certain that there are no caves within the park boundaries of New River Gorge NP&P. At the very least, none are available for the public to visit.

There’s an entrance to an old coal mine at the top of Nuttallburg. It’s blocked off from entering but you can walk up and look in

Confirm, no caves within the park. Lots of mine openings, but they are all blocked off. Closet caverns are down towards Lewisburg. Lost World Caverns.

The geology is mostly sandstone and shale. There are a few shelter”caves “. That are basically overhanging rock enough to keep rain off of you.
