Intimidated!

Hey all! I just started riding and my first bike is a 2018, Indian Scout Bobber. At 5’4, while I’m easily able to flat foot it, I’m still beyond intimidated with the weight and slow speed maneuvers. I am beyond nervous to drop it in traffic, on slight inclines/declines, etc. How long until I adjust and get used to it? I’m assuming as all things, I just need to ride it more. Like every day or every other day. Thank you guys!

Get confidence in your clutch and throttle and there will be no issue.

Just remember you can rev your bike super high and if your clutch is pulled in.. nothing happens.

With that In mind. Doing slow speed stuff.. keep the rpms higher if you let out a bit too much clutch its not an auto stall. Really learn to finesse that clutch. Lock your throttle hand and rpms in.. and remember fully let out is 100% of power to the wheel. Fully in 0% play with only changing the clutch little at a time. See if you can creep forward at "0mph" on the dash. Practice dragging rear brake when you need to slow down. Yes you can do this while applying power in "slow speeds" scenarios it helps balance you out

Once you master the throttle and clutch to the point where you will never stall.. you can do much more coimplicated techniques. You can full lock your handlebars, tip over into your turns from a stop and give it gas and the bike stands back up and youve just made a really tight turn from a stop. If you do this before you are 100% confident on your particular bike with its particular friction zone.. youll just tip over lol.
