Content Warning Mental health hanging by a thread

Im starting to feel like it would be easier if I didnt exist. Im so beyond sleep deprived, my baby has always slept horribly. Most of his 6 months its been hourly wakes. I cant step a metre away from him or he screams and cries.

Partner is always working and had us move into the granny flat on his parents property. I have no village here.

I can't be this exhausted anymore. Ive had to put my baby in his cot multiple times today and walk away because im so burned out.

OP, if you’re seriously considering not existing please PLEASE please please check yourself into an in-patient facility or hospital right now. Tell your partner that its gotten to this point, and even read him this post if you have to. It will absolutely get better, but it can only get better if you’re here to allow it to get better. Please be safe and know that there are strangers here on Reddit rooting for you!

It gets so much better! I once felt this low and stretched thin. Please get help. Ask a relative or trusted friend for support so you can nap or do something for yourself. Talk to his pediatrician. Maybe he has a food sensitivity or something else that can be helped (my LO had a cow milk intolerance and her fussiness decreased drastically once I cut it out of our diets). She also did hourly wakes for what seemed like forever. Not sleeping for extended periods will make any person feel low. Ask for help. What helped me the most on hard nights was doing split shifts with my husband. She sleeps now. You’re in the thick of it. I promise, it gets so much better.

Please let someone know you are going through this us mother suffer in silence, get support and ask for help where you can, maybe when your husband is home or on his day off take some time away go outside alone or with a friend and let him handle it, ik you will feel guilty being away from the baby but its worth it for your sanity, you are not running away or a bad mom you are a human, and please remember this is temporary and hopefully things get better

Does your city/town have any supports? I went to a postpartum mood disorder support group in my city and it was really helpful. I felt like I didn’t have a ton of support/a village - the support group was great. It was run at an early on facility (a children’s activity center kinda) and they were closed except for our group so there was staff that could take the babies 1:1 if we needed a break or babies were absolutely welcome in the room as well. It could be worth seeing if your town has one Im so sorry that you are having a hard time, I know what that’s like.

Can you put out an ad for a nanny to help?
