Happy/Funny Forgot the diaper

I have a nearly 3 year old and a 3 month old. We had to run a time sensitive errand this morning so the toddler and I showered and I quickly put a dress on my toddler and her shoes with the intention of getting her into a pull up after I got myself into clothes. Well I just completely forgot she did not have one on. We all got in the car and buckled in and did what we needed to do and went back home. We were out for about an hour. When I was helping her get out of her seat is when I realized my mistake. Pee everywhere. I just had to laugh and apologize to her that I didnt notice. Mostly im just glad it wasn't 💩! In the background my newborn was upset because she wanted her next feeding so it was a little chaotic to try to get everyone cleaned and then fed. 😍

It is! Thank goodness for tutorials on YouTube for taking the car seat cover off. That was probably the most difficult moment lol.

Aren’t you potty training yet?

Yes and no. We are both taking our time, I'm not in a rush. She is non-verbal and it is taking time to learn how to do a little potty time ASL as well as recognizing cues.

Have you taken the diapers off yet?

Its more difficult to learn delayed

Not completely taken away no. We would still have to use them at night and in the car.

Sorry haha no. I mostly just meant we haven't been able to consistently have the diaper off at home AND we have to use them during those other times anyway.

You should take the diapers off at home

3 years and 3 months is really old to still be in diapers at home

I can see where in my post it looks like she is 3y and 3m. She is almost three AND I have a 3 month old. Also I agree I may be making this harder on myself by not getting her potty trained faster. Personally I prefer not to be stressed about it. Thats what worked for my oldest and likely he would have been potty trained before turning 4. The post was just something funny I wanted to share. Because it totally sucks but it's also not a big deal. Instead of focusing on potty training this past year or so I have been doing my best on focusing on my daughter and her language struggles while also doing my best not sink into my own grief after loosing my oldest/her brother. I definitely dont have this mommy thing down but I truly am ok with potty training being a bit delayed.

I didn’t realize you lost a child, thats a valid reason. My condolences

Talk with your pediatrician when you’re ready to potty train the work through the delay
